Being Prepared

A day or two before your appointment, make a list of the things you will need during the interview and gather them all together. These should include:

  • Clean copies of your resume.
  • The specifics of your previous employment (dates, companies, pay rates, etc.).
  • A list of the schools you have attended and the dates of attendance.
  • A list of your previous residences.
  • The names and current phone numbers of your references.
  • A pocket dictionary.
  • A pen and pencil.
  • Money for lunch, phone calls and bus fare (if applicable).

By planning in advance, you're less likely to overlook important details. You'll also be able to alleviate any last-minute stresses that could cause you to be late or unprepared.
